We love it when our Facebook feed brings up a 5-minute-long film that touches our heart but many of us have yet to make it to an actual short film screening. Whether you are a virgin when it comes to watching a short film on a big screen or a short film enthusiast always looking around for the next best thing, the 2nd Short Film Collective Festival will make sure this coming weekend turns out to be rewarding.
The Short Film Collective was born out a passion for (you guessed it) short films and a desire to bring together the best in the short film world. Now in its second year, the festival is set to take off with its film screenings on Friday, 17th of February for a short three days at the Barış Manço Kültür Merkezi and the Kadıköy Belediyesi Karikatür Evi.
The festival already began on the 10th of February with an exhibition of short film posters at Kadıköy Belediyesi Karikatür Evi, which will continue until the 5th of March. The film selections include films by both Turkish and international directors and fall under several categories: Boğaziçi University Mithat Alam Film Center Hisar Choice of Short Films 2016, 9th Istanbul Documentary Days Films, 27th and 28th Istanbul International Short Film Festival Jury Award Winning Films, and Short Film Collective’s Choice.
Details of all films and the schedule can be found here.
