Selin Kent is a Turkish jewelry maker who lives in New York. After working in Market Research for a few years, she decided she wanted to create something with her bare hands instead of writing reports all day. Having always been attracted to metals, design and jewelry in particular, she found herself as a student again, this time learning everything she could about jewelry making from scratch and working as an intern in Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. In 2013, she created her first ‘Selin Kent’ collection.
Although there are silver pieces in her range, Selin feels more confident working with gold. She mixes 14k gold with the best quality diamonds and other precious stones such as rubies. Her minimal and sophisticated jewelry line consists mostly of beautiful rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings, which she likes to name after music and Hollywood legends. Our favorite from her latest collection is called Ava (Gardner), and it is a pink gold ring decorated with black diamonds. Oh, did we mention that some of her customers include familiar names like Angelina Jolie and Emma Watson?
