Although it feels like darkness looms the city these days, there is always something beautiful about Istanbul that gives us hope… and light. Zorlu Center has been reviving the city’s cultural scene with all sorts of activities and events and, between November 13 and 29, it is hosting the city’s first Light Festival where a series of artworks will light up the center.

Curated by Rebeca Mendez, Head of the Media Art Department at UCLA, the festival brings together national and international artists, including Kari Kola from Finland, Jen Lewin from the States, Amanda Parer from Australia, Groupe-Laps from France, and Refik Anadol from Turkey. Look forward to light installations, light sculptures, performances, dance shows, workshops – all illuminating, calling, and bringing forth some much needed light.
