Jazz may not be everyone’s cup of tea but those who like it *really* like it.
And even though Istanbul is not necessarily closely associated with jazz, there are still a handful of venues where jazz reigns.
We highly recommend you check out a performance or two even if you think jazz is not your thing. You might be pleasantly surprised.
Nardis Jazz Club
Located in the Galata area, Nardis is one of the oldest and most established jazz clubs in the city where you can listen to both Turkish and international musicians. Their upcoming program includes Önder Focan & Kağan Yıldız & Ferit Odman Trio, Ece Göksü Quartet, Burak Bedikyan Trio, Hacettepe Jazz Band, Los Amigos de Herman, Volkan Polat Quartet, and many more. Click here to see their upcoming events and make sure you get your tickets in advance, especially for weekend performances.
Tamirane
If you find yourself with no plans on a Sunday, head to Tamirane for their Morning Jazz Sessions, held every Sunday at 3pm. Their past performers included Bora Çeliker Trio, Ezgi Aktan, and Jazz Matiz. Keep an eye on their schedule here to see what’s coming up.
Noasis Jazz Club
A gem on the Asian Side, Noasis is a small, intimate, and down-to-earth venue, even worth the trip from the European Side. Pınar Argin Trio, Bilal Karaman Swing Band, Random Quintet, Evrencan Gündüz Quintet are among the musicians who’ve played here in the past month. Click here to check out their upcoming performances.
