Want to get away from the city and its crowds? Why don’t you head to Heybeliada, our personal favorite, instead of the popular Büyükada with its large hoards of tourists? A 45-minute ferry ride from Kabatas, this small island has preserved its local essence and will delight you.
Once you’re there have lunch at the vintage inspired Luz Café and enjoy their deliciously cooked organic products as well as their special tea varieties. Ready for shopping? Move next door to Evden and try their homemade marmalade, prepared from organic fruits and herbs that the owners grow themselves. Then cross the street to check out the handmade notebooks and decorative objects at Ya Da. Feel like sightseeing? You can head to Ruhban Okulu at the highest point of the island and explore the now closed theology school and its beautiful church (all open to the public).
To wrap up your lovely day, we suggest a rakı and meze dinner at Heyamola Ada Lokantası (make sure to try the eggplant puree).

Nous recommandons cette escapade, idéale pour sortir de la folie de cette ville si tourbillonnante, prendre l’air, manger un délicieux poisson, bref découvrir un autre aspect d’Istanbul, plus sauvage et nature !
Since I came to Heybeliada restaurants I love fish.
Great spot.
Really nice place, thank you Canim! The ferry ride to get there, the food etc. a great experience!
