If you’ve been looking for an excuse to get out of the city, we’ve got great news for you.
The 7th Alaçatı Herb Festival is set to take place between Thursday April 7 and Sunday April 10. Organized by the Municipality of Çeşme, the festival is all about the area’s nature, culture, and traditions being spilled out onto the streets of Alaçatı for national and international tourists to get to know.
This year’s festival theme is Endive, and many food workshops will be centered around that specific herb. But there will be a lot more filling up the four days of the festival, including nature walks, olive-oil soap making workshop, herbal tea making and tasting workshop and talks on protecting biodiversity, Çeşme’s aromatic and healing herbs, and healthy living. The 10th will be the most exciting day of the festival with people competing for the best dish made with Aegean herbs and the highest number of herbs collected. Three art exhibitions, one of which showcases Bennu Gerede’s photos, will be available for viewing throughout the weekend.
So book your flight and hotel, and prepare for a weekend getaway on the Aegean.
