NYKS in Galata has dedicated itself to producing 100% paraffin-free (paraffin is a cheap chemical used to lower costs) candles made entirely from an olive oil base and scented with natural ingredients. Even the containers are made from non-perishable materials such as 100% raw copper from East Anatolia or marble from Afyon. The naturally enticing smells include thyme, bergamot, pine turpentine, mandarin, rosemary, lavender, and cinnamon.
